The Sandbox Summer Session Fun

June 2009 Summer Session has begun and the fun is just starting!

The Big Kids in The Clubhouse are excited to see their old friends

from last summer and share hugs and smiles once more. They all go

on three field trips a day.

They skate, go to the movie theater or visit another

very interesting place, like a museum or a garden or a park.

The children also swim in The Clubhouse pool and practice

swim strokes or just play and chat. They have a real mountain

climbing wall and learn to climb cliffs.

The children in the main Sandbox all get in their pool once a day,

all those who are potty trained, that is. So, work on that skill if you

aren’t already potty trained, to come swimming with everyone else.

Smaller children have water play in the hoses and sprinklers.

There are wonderful vegetables and flowers growing in the garden

outside and behind the art room. Stop by and see !!

We all still do dress up and paint and play with clay and build with blocks.

We watch fish in tanks and feed them sometimes. We listen to stories from books and read them alone, we have visitors like firemen and doctors and bankers and eat snacks, color, write letters, play on the computers and learn something new each day.

But, it’s summer, so we mostly just play with our friends!!

A Welcome and An Introduction

Hello, welcome to our SandBlog about our preschool and early childhood learning center, The Sandbox in Tucson, Arizona. We have been in business for twenty-eight years.

We are located at 2701 N. Swan Road. We are two blocks north of Grant Road, near the Crossroads Festival Shopping Center, near TMC. We are convenient to families in the Foothills area.

We are N.A.E.Y.C. accredited and that's not easy to attain. We now accept infants and children up to 8 years of age.

We have the pre-school (1 to 5 year olds) and also a separate facility on the property called the Big Kids' Clubhouse ( with after school van pick up at some schools in our immediate area).

The Sandbox has a preschool curriculum, music and art rooms, multiple playgrounds and computers and fun !!! We have a rock climbing wall and two swimming pools for the summer.

We have full time and part time scheduling, Summer Programs and field trips. Come see our school and get a tour. The best time to tour is usually 9 a.m. because by then classes have begun and children are not lunching (very busy staff) or napping (very quiet rooms) yet.
